Day 3 of Opening Doors is almost complete and today, children, young people our international friends enjoyed performances by companies from France, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Australia and Wales. Amongst the audience from 22 countries, Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch was extremely pleased that Mr John Griffiths, our Minister for Culture and Sport attended the event in Aberystwyth today.

The first stop was Ysgol Uwchradd Penweddig where he sat amongst the young audience to enjoy a powerful performance of King Hit by Australia’s Zeal Theatre. Following the performance the Minister travelled to Canolfan Arad Goch in the heart of Aberystwyth to talk to the performing companies, international theatre producers and promoters and invited guests.

During his inspiring speech he emphasised the importance of theatre and performing arts to young audiences and felt strongly about the need to continue to perform in Schools in order to ensure that all children and young people get to experience the arts.
